Curriculum Resources

To help congregations explore the connection between faith and health, the Church Health Center develops materials suitable for use in various group study settings. For information on any of the materials listed below please email curriculum@churchhealthcenter.org.

Alphabet Appetite: Teaching Children Healthy Eating through the Alphabet is a faith-based, healthy living curriculum for children ages 2-5 years. It is designed to be used in churches, classrooms and other community groups as a way to introduce children to healthy foods. Each lesson also builds literacy and fine motor skills, increases vocabulary and enhances cognition and development. 

Recognizing Recovery: The Twelve Steps for You and Your Church is designed to introduce you to the path of spiritual awakening called the Twelve Steps. It is an accessible resource guide that can be used by both individuals and groups and offers practical answers to questions about the nature of purpose of Twelve Step recovery programs. 

Holding Hope: Grieving Pregnancy Loss During Advent is a four-week Advent devotion for all those suffering from pregnancy loss. It is intended to be used by anyone who is grieving the loss of a child or children due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or other complications of premature births. 

On the Move in Congregations is a six-week program of Scriptures, meditations and health tips designed to help groups walk together to get healthier. Available journals are Walking with Jesus and Walking with Abraham and Sarah. For more information, email curriculum@churchhealthcenter.org.

Seasoning Lent is an eight-week devotional is designed for the Christian season of Lent and invites you to cook simple, delicious meals as a part of your spiritual practice for this season. 

Walk & Talk: Walking Together with Scripture is a Bible study and devotional that is specifically designed to be used while you walk with a friend, with a member of your congregation, or by yourself. The primary objective of Walk & Talk is to help communities incorporate healthy habits into their lives of faith through physical movement and spiritual enrichment.
