Race for Grace

Church Health Center’s Race for Grace 5K

Annual race seeks to promote active lifestyles while raising vital funds for Center

Since 1987, the Church Health Center has provided quality, affordable healthcare for working uninsured people and their families. By uniting congregations with the Memphis community at large, the Center has grown into the largest faith-based organization of its type in the country, caring for more than 54,000 patients of record without relying on government funding.

“The Church Health Center is more than a medical clinic,” said Church Health Center Executive Director Dr. Scott Morris. “We are here to care for people in need through our medical, wellness and outreach programs, and the Race for Grace is a great opportunity for the community to support our work, get healthier, and celebrate God’s great gift of health in body and spirit.”

“The response we’ve received from congregations, businesses and individuals has been amazing thus far,” said race chair Sandra House. “Having fun with friends, old and new, while supporting the vital work of the Church Health Center is something people can really get behind. We just want to keep the momentum going.”

Corporate sponsorship packages are available. Participants may choose to run or walk as part of a team or as individuals. Awards are given to the best race times in all age brackets. Awards are also given to the team with the largest number of participants and the team raising the most money for the Church Health Center.   For more information about the Race for Grace, call Richard H.
